I'M SORRY QUILT
Shirin Towfiq, I'm Sorry, 6'x7', 2016
The I'm sorry quilt came from a previous mobile wall piece that had the same words written on it which I pulled through the city. When I'm sorry was written on the mobile wall it was bold in its vulnerability, in admitting my wrong doings. In quiet contrast, the quilt was more comforting; it was more private and intimate and yet less ashamed. The wall feels like I'm dragging around a heavy burden and the quilt is a warm comforting healing object.
